My new exposition catalog that accompanies a traveling exposition, comes in two versions, one with an unbiased account of the story of the battle and one without it for well-versed affecionados. For kids of all ages my coloring books / coloriage come  in three volumes featuring original drawings suitable for all levels ... shown left on of six books in the WATERLOO series. VERNISSAGE 4 MAY at MSJ MEDICAL HISTORY MUSEUM     Nouveau!

After all the paintings are finished, framed and the work is hung, it is so nice to be surrounded by artfully inclined friends and collectors with whom to celebrate and party a bit. Here's a video on my tv channel of the vernissage or exposition preview featuring plein air paintings of the Waterloo battlefield and some landmarks in the vicinity.

I presented the latest permanent acquisition to the commune of Braine-L'Alleud in October 2015 now displayed prominently  in their Salle de Marriage, City Hall. This work, a pastel,  was part of the Pigments d'Histoire bicentennary exposition,  ran during the height of the commemoration activities in the heart of theri commune. Additionally, I was lucky enough to be invited to hang some of my paintings throughout the chateau for a special one day exposition for guests coming from many cities throughout Europe.l I got to meet Prince Charles Bonaparte, founder and president of the Federation of Napoleonic Cities and living descendant of the Jerome Bonaparte lineage, brother of Napoléon who lead the first attack at Hougoumont.   more

Traveling  Exposition
historic  landmark Exposition

of  Napoléonic paintings

plein air paintings in oil, pastel and watercolor of the Napoléonic battlefield  and related landmarks in the vicinity in  Waterloo, Belgium by Teresa Beth Hough

TRAVELING EXPOSITION---70 CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS
COMPLETED ON  THE BATTLEFIELD  OF WATERLOO AND VICINITY
Premiere expositions were in Waterloo and Braine-L'Alleud during 2015, the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo

Now accepting venues for calendar November 2015-2016

This is the year of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo!

The most important commemoration festivities take place in June, including but not limited to the 4 -day re-enactments or ''reconstitution''.  The tourism office expects a record number of visitors to commemorate the Bicentenary of The Battle of Waterloo and a number of new attractions have been added.  Represented in the show will be a painting of the beautiful and historically significant
chateau farm Hougoumont in which two countries have matched funds into the millions to restore it and add a state of the art cinematography center, a memorial to fallen soldiers, and overnight accommodation among other amenities.

While out painting on location around the battlefield area and villages, locals  informed the plein air artist about the nature areas, landmarks and specific places of related history that influence her subject matter for works for the exposition. All compositions are  local and  recently painted for the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo. The official inauguration was 19 June 2015.

The vernissage or premiere evening opening of the painting exposition was on 5 June.  For various accounts see the Braine-l Alleud facebook and commune internet site plus many videos uploaded on You Tube.

The battlefield area is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in Europe.  It is located in the southern, French-speaking part of Belgium, nowadays just 1hr15min. on the TGV north of Paris. For those not familiar with the area, the well-known Lion Mound and the imposing tower of the St. Etienne church, where a medical exhibit is on view until September, are minutes apart and both make it easy to locate the hilltop village of Braine-l'Alleud from many vantage points at a distance and with just about any mode of transport except ship!
